CloseUNICEF* intends to tackle the learning crisis by providing children and youth with fair access to quality digital education. The use of ICT tools opens the door to an environment that fosters learning: in addition to the core fundamentals of education (reading, writing and math), it enables children and youth access more learning content to increase their knowledge and to learn at their own pace.
Since 2022, VINCI Energies has been supporting UNICEF on projects that provide better access to quality learning and digital education, enabling children to benefit from a blended learning approach, i.e. learning through ICT tools in addition to a more traditional education.
In East-Timor, VINCI Energies is supporting a project which will enable fair access to quality basic education for more than 6000 children aged 6 to 15 in schools in three municipalities, by providing Internet access.
At the end of this four-year partnership:
More than 250 teachers will be trained to use computers and to integrate them into educational curricula. Accordingly, they will be able to complete the education they provide for more than 6,000 pupils – including 50 children with disabilities – with e-knowledge and build their digital skills by using IT tools and platforms.
